Baby #2 update!

We are 5 weeks away (or less!) from meeting our precious baby!  Where has the time gone?!  Seriously, this pregnancy has FLOWN by wayyyy quicker than the last!  We are so close!

Here are baby's feet at our 20-week ultrasound back in March!

We had another ultrasound at 34 weeks.  Dr. Levin determined that the baby has a very large head.  Given that, and the fact that John, I, and Perry were all big babies, she would like to induce me the week before our due date.  I think we've settled on July 26th.  So the baby will be here then, if not before!  Look at our sweet baby's profile!!  Who are you, baby?!  Boy or girl?!

This is just a random picture I snapped today of the bump at 35 weeks.  The first time around, I took a posed bump picture every week.  Sorry, baby!  #SecondChildProblems

We need to get our act together around the house to prepare, haha.  We are in the process of setting up Perry's big girl room and getting the nursery put together.  We will try to finish in the next couple weeks and have Perry sleep in the nursery for a while longer until she is ready to move to a big girl bed.  We've washed gender neutral clothes, blankets, and swaddles.  We still need to set up the "gear" (swing, rock-n-play, etc.), install the carseat, and pack a hospital bag.  But really, if the baby comes today, we'd be fine! :)

These next five weeks will fly by, and we are SO ready to becomes a family of FOUR!!!

Galveston weekend

We went to Galveston last weekend with our friends the Boudreauxs and Argos!  They each have a daughter around Perry's age, and the girls had a blast playing together.  We stayed in a condo that had a great patio, a pool, bar and grill, and easy access to the beach.  It whole setup worked out perfectly for us!  We got there Friday around 4.  The moms took the girls down to the beach for a quick minute while the dads went on a grocery run.  Then it was pizza for dinner, bathtime, and bed for the girls.

Saturday was a full day of beach and pool fun!  We headed down to the beach around 9 and then spent some time at the pool before lunch.  We all rested at the condo during naptime, then headed back out to the pool for the afternoon/evening!  We were going to go to Galveston for dinner, but decided to just stay by the pool and have dinner at the grill.  The food was delicious, and it was much easier than getting everyone ready.  The girls were exhausted after a full day, and the adults hung out on the patio the rest of the night!

We went back out to the beach and pool for a couple hours on Sunday morning before heading home.

It was such a fun (and surprisingly relaxing!) weekend with friends!  Perry had an absolute blast, and the girls kept each other pretty entertained!  Grateful for a fun weekend away with Perry before baby #2 comes!

San Antonio Vacation

A few weeks ago, we went to San Antonio for a Lodde family vacation!  John's mom came a few days early to spend time with us at home, and then we all headed to San Antonio for a long weekend.

When we arrived Thursday night, we went to get BBQ for dinner near the house we rented, then hung out by the pool (the house had an amazing backyard and pool!).  Friday morning we went to Sea World!  Perry loved it!  She didn't sleep well the night before, so she was a bit tired and cranky towards the middle of the visit.  But she was a trooper and LOVED seeing the sea animals, especially the penguins and sea lions (because she has continued to talk about them weeks after our visit).  When she got cranky, we just fed her some ice cream and she cheered up.  Hah!

Friday afternoon/evening and Saturday morning were spent by the pool - which was perfect!  Perry had a blast, and John and I were even able to relax a little since we had 4 other people to play with Perry in the water. :)  She especially loved "motor boat, motor boat" with uncle Doe Doe.

Saturday afternoon we headed to the Riverwalk!  We made the obligatory trip to the Alamo, took a boat ride, then walked to grab some Tex-Mex and ice cream.

We headed home Sunday after a fun-filled weekend feeling grateful for family time!

Thank you for a wonderful trip, Ahma and Papa!
