2 months with Luke!

I can't believe he is already two months old!  Time has flown by even faster with #2, which I didn't think was possible!  

Luke has given us a few tiny smiles, but we have to work reallllllly hard, and I don't know if I quite count them as his first smile yet.  He has started coo-ing a little bit!  He's still mostly a serious little guy and a man of few words. ;)

He is starting to look like his momma, which I love!  Since Perry more so takes after the Lodde side of the family, it's fun that he is looking like a Preston.  I think he takes after my grandpa, Bubba, a little bit.  He has long eyelashes, a dimple, and big blue eyes.  I love his pouty little bottom lip when he cries and the way he watches my every move.  He loves laying flat on the ground and looking up at the ceiling.  He LOVES his bath!  He loves his carseat once he gets settled in.  He isn't a big pacifier guy at all.  He is a little unsure of his sister, and flinches when she gets too close. ;)

Luke got his first cold this month. :(  He has had it for 10 days already, and it's still lingering.

Luke is eating 5 times during the day (about every 3 hours), and usually twice in the middle of the night.  We have been giving him a bottle around 7:15 for his last feeding of the day, then ideally he is in bed by 8.  He is sleeping in the snuggle-me inside the pack-n-play in our room.  We still swaddle him, even though he doesn't really like it.  He grunts and makes so many noises at night.  His sleep has been all over the place, and it seems like we are up all night lately.  I want to blame it on his cold, and I really hope I'm right!  He still just naps whenever/wherever, but he also can't just nap wherever anymore.  I'm trying to work on him napping in his crib, but it hasn't really been successful yet.  He mostly just naps in the car, in the carrier, or randomly while I hold him.

Perry goes to preschool

Perry started preschool last week!!  This is a pretty big milestone for this momma. :)  Even though Perry just turned two this summer, I was so excited for her to start preschool because I really just felt like she was ready.  Given her little personality, I thought she would love it and enjoy the socialization and stimulation that I simply can't give her right now in this stage with a newborn at home. Plus, as an added bonus, it will give me time to focus on Luke a couple of days a week.  Perry has been talking about preschool for WEEKS, or MONTHS even.  She was extra excited because her cousin and best friend, Rhett, would be in her class. :)

Last week, we got to "meet the teacher".  Look at these precious cousins!  They are so pumped to be in the Monkey Class!

Last Wednesday was her official first day of school!  Her teachers are Miss Frida and Miss Melissa, and they seem SO sweet.  She was so excited about her backpack, lunchbox, and nap mat.  She practiced laying in her nap mat for a solid 30 minutes the night before her first day. :) Here are a few pictures from her first day of school!
