Quarantine life
Well, here we are in week 3 (or 4??) of practicing social distancing amidst the coronavirus global pandemic. Kids, you'll read about this in the history books someday! We can go outside and pick up food, but otherwise can't really leave our houses. Businesses are closed, parks are closed, schools are closed, people are working from home, restaurants are doing take-out only, the economy is crashing. We haven't seen anyone (besides my sister and her kids - outdoors only). It's strange. It's hard. It's isolating. But to be honest, it's also been really great for us. To have distractions removed and be forced to stay home and spend time as a family has been a huge blessing. We've been loving it! I know some people are suffering (lost jobs, pay cuts, health issues, single people with no family around, etc.), and I pray for those people every day. But there is so much good that has come out of this already! I think God is using it to bring people closer to Him and to their families. When life goes back to normal, I hope our "normal" looks a little different than it used to!
We've been having some fun! John has been home in the mornings for breakfast, which we are not used to, as he normally leaves before the kids wake up. And although he works all day in the study, he takes little breaks here and there, is home for lunch, and is done working earlier than we're used to having him home. Yay!
We spend LOTS of time outside and go on LOTS of bike rides...
do LOTS of crafts and activities...
eat LOTS of snacks and have LOTS of popsicle baths...
this picture just make me laugh...little brother life...dress-up clothes, but always a ball in hand! :)
We have all had Zoom calls with our friends to stay connected, and it's so fun! Daddy has had three 3-hour Zooms with his friends, which cracks me up. They love it. They've even played poker together on it one night. Perry got to have a Zoom call with her Bee Class!
Obviously, there are challenges with being home all day/every day with little ones, but we have really enjoyed our time together, and I hope that is what we remember when we look back on this time. :)
