Easter recap

We had a wonderful Holy week!

Perry had an Easter party at school and was so excited to show me her eggs and treats.

We decorated Easter cookies!

We went to the Boudreaux's 8th annual crawfish boil on Good Friday!  Perry was totally preoccupied playing with Aria the entire time - they are little besties and play so well together.  Luke was a trooper and went along for the ride, as usual!

It's always a good time hanging with this crew!

Happy Easter!  Perry was so excited to see her Easter basket in the morning.  Luke didn't know what was going on, but was excited to grab and chew on everything. ;)  We went to church, then went to Mumsie and Popsie's house for more Easter baskets, brunch, and swimming.

It was a happy Easter, indeed!  HE IS RISEN!

Swim lessons

Perry started swim lessons this month!  I was terrified she would scream and refuse to go inside, but she has LOVED it so far!!  So proud of my little swimmer :)

Patio

The most recent excitement at the Lodde household - we got our patio cover extended!  We wanted to create a more comfortable space to hang out in the backyard so that we would go out there more often.  We love it and have already used it SO much in the week and a half we've had it!  It was worth every penny!

We've been lucky with some beautiful weather to enjoy on the patio!

March update

We had a fun-filled March!  In no particular order...

We celebrated my Dad and Thomas's birthdays!

Perry had rodeo day at school!

Me and the kids went to the zoo with Britt and Rhett!

I painted Perry's nails for the first time!  She had been begging me to have her "pails naited".  She is so excited about her pink toes. :)

We had a couple of picnics at the park and spent lots of time outside because we have had some gorgeous weather!

Perry got to hang out with her bestie, Aria, a couple times.

I got to hang out with my childhood bestie, Megan!

We spent lots of time with Mumsie and Popsie while John was traveling for work, including a trip to get froyo!

Luke sat in the front of the shopping cart for the first time!

We watched our cuzzie, Reid, play baseball!

We had a couple photoshoots of the kid in coordinating outfits. :)

And everyday moments in between...

So grateful for this little family of mine. :)

We're ready for spring!

8 months with Luke

Luke Robert is 8 months old today, and I truly don't know how this is possible!  I blinked, and he's two-thirds of the way to a year.  In some ways, it's been a blur, but in others, it's been crystal clear and bright.  He brings so much light and joy to our family!

Luke is a momma's boy, for sure!  He always has his eye on me when I'm in the room.  There have been a few instances of major separation anxiety lately.  I sure love my sweet boy.

He is scooting around/army crawling everywhere!  He will lift his bottom up and get on his knees, but can't quite figure out the crawling yet.  That's more than ok with us, as we're still enjoying the less mobile stage. :)

Luke has 4 teeth, two top and two bottom.  They are getting more visible when he smiles and are so cute!

He is getting a better hang of the food thing.  We have been doing traditional purees mixed with some baby-led weaning ("real food").  He has tried all kinds of "real food" - cantaloupe, brussels sprouts, turkey meatballs, and more - but his very favorite so far is mango!  He also looooooves pouches and is getting good at drinking them himself.

Luke is officially down to two naps!  I am master manipulator when it comes to getting both kids to nap at the same time.  I usually get anywhere from 45 minutes to 1.5 hours of overlap if I push Perry's nap later.  Woo-hoo!

Luke is just super smiley!  He loves swinging, rolling around, playing peek-a-boo, rolling the ball, watching his sister, looking in the mirror, and chewing on tags and shoestrings.  And he still LOVES his big sister!  She gets the most smiles and laughs by far. :)

We love our blonde, blue-eyed boy SO so much!
