Easter and a little spring catch-up

Easter 2021 recap:  Thankful for a "normal" Easter weekend this year complete with our friends' annual crawfish boil, church, Easter eggs hunts, yummy brunch, and time spent with family at Mumsie and Popsie's!

And here are some cute pics from the spring...

Mommy's 3 trips

Momma went on 3 little getaways over the spring, and they were so good for the soul!

I went with my best friend to beautiful Sedona!  This trip was SO. MUCH. FUN!  It snowed while we were there, which caused lots of anxiety leading up to the trip (would it ruin all of our outdoor plans?!), but it ended up being so beautiful and not ruining anything at all!  The snowy hike was our favorite, and the snowy afternoon made for a perfect spa day.

My mom, Brittany, and I went to College Station overnight for a little girls getaway!  We got a color analysis done (such a girly and fun activity) and enjoyed a few delicious meals.

Crossley and I went to Round Top for a night in April!  We stayed at the cutest bed and breakfast, did some shopping, and just enjoyed time catching up.

I'm a lucky gal with these friends and family, and a wonderful hubby who holds down the fort anytime I need a little R&R!

Fort Myers trip 2021

We visited John's parents in Fort Myers for a week back in February.  This will be an annual trip we look forward to every year!  We enjoyed beautiful weather, a beach day, zoo, farm, and lots and lots of swimming!

Thank you, Ahma and Papa, for a wonderful week!

Snow-vid 2021!

Back in February, we had a snow day!  More like a snow WEEK, i.e. Snowpocalypse, i.e. Snovid.  The kids loved playing in the snow (well, Perry did. Luke, not so much), and it was very beautiful to look at, but it turned into quite the ordeal with power outages and water issues all week long across the entire state of Texas.  I mean, who would have thought?!  It was pretty crazy.  We started Snovid with a Valentine’s Day cousin not-so-sleepover.  The kids were too excited to sleep, so after being up all night, we “woke up” to SNOW and no power!  It was all fun and games until we figured we didn’t want to sleep with no heater in 20 degree weather.  So, off to Mumsie and Popsie’s we went.  John stayed back to keep an eye on the house, and he slept in the living room in front of the fireplace after boiling huge pots of water all day for added heat.  This must have been what it was like in the olden days!  We actually had lots of fun during the whole ordeal.

Downside, many restaurants and grocery stores were closed and/or had ridiculous lines, which sort of put a damper on things.  We rounded out the week with my birthday. Even though most of my plans were ruined because of Snovid, we still managed to enjoy a birthday dinner at El Ranchero with the whole fam, and dinner the next night with my bestie!

The next day, the sun was shining and life was back to normal like nothing ever happened.  I mean, what a weird week!
