We had a wonderful family vacation to Florida last week with my side of the family! Vacationing with littles isn't exactly relaxing, but we made memories and had a blast!
All in all, the kids did fine on the road trip. Perry didn't sleep or watch as much tv as we were hoping, but we made it. ;) We stopped in Baton Rouge for the night on the way there, and John was excited to show off Mike the Tiger to the kids!
We made it to the beach house around 4 on Saturday and decided to check out the beach after dinner! Luke absolutely LOVED the sand!
The house we stayed in was a great setup. John, the kids, and I all slept in the same room, but there was plenty of space for all. Perry slept on this cute little twin pullout thing, and Luke slept in the closet. Ha! :)
The next day was Father's Day, so we decided to go out for a yummy seafood dinner and ice cream!
The adult kids went out to dinner sans little kids (thanks to my parents!) in Seaside one night, and it was so yummy.
The rest of the trip was filled with beach time, pool time, sandcastles, seashell hunting, board games, a water balloon fight, eating, drinking Miami vices, and lots of quality family time. Luke was perfect at the beach - man, he's so chill! He was so content just playing in the sand, sitting by the water, anything. Perry had a blast on the beach, too! Here are some pics in no particular order to document.
We had a photo shoot on the beach, but I will do a separate post on that because this one is getting long. John, the kids, and I drove home on Thursday (the kids did remarkably well) because I was in a wedding that weekend. It was such a fun trip! Take me back!!!
